Boundaries

Since the office drama has shown up, I have a very strict boundary I put in place.

These people are not my friends. They are coworkers. I will not stray from that viewpoint anymore. It’s not worth it.

Yesterday morning, I had my 6 month followup with my surgeon’s team. Her office was booming. When I walked in the waiting room was full. She had a different nurse (that I had not met) room me.

I did see people I knew throughout my visit and it was a good exam. I didn’t ruin my recovery with my bike accident.

I’m scheduled for my next exam in February and it’s going to be a pre surgery appointment.

I didn’t see the surgeon on this visit. After I got back to the waiting room, it was still full. I did wait a little bit while I visited with my counterpart to checkout. But, it felt weird to hover after visiting with another patient. So I left without a hello/hug from my surgeon.

In the parking lot I sent her a message. And I visited with her in my text feed as per usual. We still have more work to do as Dr and patient so, I’m going to keep that boundary for now.

I’ll find my way downtown again soon enough for a visit when the day won’t be as jam packed.
