I had my photo shoot today. The goal of this shoot was to get some marketing material for when my book is ready to be seen and known to the publishers and to my audience.
I’ve shot with this photographer before and I trust her to see me and pull out the person I have to filter for almost every other person in my life.
I went in knowing I wanted to know my body. Showing the scars from surgery. Showing the orthotics. Seeing vulnerability. Getting genuine laughs and smiles.
I think we succeeded. I feel empowered. I feel seen. I feel at home. I feel safe to say the things I’ve been afraid to say. Which means, my next writing session for the book will be almost effortless.
