Occupational Therapy Recap

Monday was my first formal therapy appointment.  I went in with low expectations.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that my therapist asked good questions, empowered me, and saw me as a peer when I told her my experience with OT.

We discussed my goals, including a day time orthotic for my hand, strengthening, and more flexibility.

My routine is now the length of a small novel. My muscles are feeling the use for the first time in a minute.

I got new nighttime compression delivered yesterday. It was like getting a tight hug from my surgeon (who gives the best hugs by any person I’ve met including my hubby). It also was really nice to see the least amount of swelling I’ve seen in a few days.

Tonight I made the decision to go to virtual group therapy instead of in-person. I really just need my individual appointments to start up. The things I need to unpack are not for group.
