Today, this was the morning huddle at work. Since we are days away from the end of the month, I thought it might be good to go deeper here.
1. What’s one win you’ve had this month?
The big win of my month is that despite how much I do not like or feel like I’m not benefiting from outpatient therapy, I’m still going.
One more because I’m frigging proud. My diabetes is back into pre-diabetic ranges.
2. What’s something new you tried in June?
I got a new trainer this month. This time, it’s going to stick. I’m all in, and it’s not about the numbers. It’s a holistic method that feels accessible and appropriate. I’m less than 2 years from my milestone birthday, and I am 100% in on the process and habits that Dani and Jaime are laying before me.
3. What are you most grateful for right now?
I am grateful that my surgeon and I have an ongoing text conversation. It’s become a touch stone for when I’m frustrated with recovery. Since we both work in the same sector of healthcare, we can commiserate on the state of scheduling and how patients are sometimes.
4. What’s one thing you’d like to improve next month?
July is the month of the run. I’m going to work on my pacing so I’m not gassed by minute 10.
5. If June had a headline for you, what would it be?
Resets are necessary. This month, I tried to do too much at first. I was/am frustrated with a lot. So, I got intentional with my choices.
I kept up on things that were good for me (outpatient therapy) and made the appointments to figure out other things related to overall health. I chose to pause on changing my job and decided to make a difference where I’m at. I find pockets of joy, which makes the stress worth it.
I reset my training with a group and system that makes the most sense for me.
I’m hit reset on my writing so I can hone in on the story I’m really trying to tell.
