What colleges have you attended? For the sake of storytelling… I’m going to use the loose definition of the word attended. My very first visit to a college was a weekend conference at Stonybrook on Long Island in New York. Over the course of my high school career, I would visit NYU, Columbia, and JohnContinue reading “Day 3”

Day 2
Do you play in your daily life? What says “playtime” to you? Play/relax/recharge/ unplug/decompress as my 40-something self, all of these words mean very similar things. Play time for me is any time my brain is not focused on the life I lead outside my front door. It’s sitting in my chair after work andContinue reading “Day 2”
Day 1
What are your biggest challenges? I have a goal to write 365 days in 2025. Blogunary will be a good way to kick that off. Some days, I will use the prompts provided, and other days, I’ll have something else to say. Today’s prompt is very appropriate for the beginning of the year at aContinue reading “Day 1”
2025 Intention
My intention of the year is consistency. I will be consistent in my efforts in my health / wellness. I will be consistent in my efforts to improve my spirituality. I will be consistent at improving my relationships with those I care about most. What that looks like is prioritizing the following: In other words,Continue reading “2025 Intention”
Obligatory Holiday Post
This is the first time in a few years that we’ve had a pretty chill holiday. Last night, we put the final touches on our tree, watched a few holiday movies, spent time with our friends, and went to bed early. Our son came home from work to spend the day with us. I contribute to my community and the causes that I am passionate about, but outside of my husband and those that pay attention… what I think and believe about the things going on outside my front door is none of your business. But, those days are over.Continue reading “Politics”

The aftermath
Since the verdict, I have been dealing with work-life drama. As I’m not about to let more drama into my life, I’m actively pursuing other avenues because no situation or circumstance at work is worth my peace and mental health. Though we were found not guilty of a felony, we still have to deal withContinue reading “The aftermath”
Verdict
After the arrest in July 2023, we learned that we were being charged with a felony. We were appointed attorneys due to the severity of the charges and went right to work trying to get the charged reduced/dismissed/mitigated. Ultimately, our efforts amounted to nothing. So, on July 22, 2024… our criminal trial started. A juryContinue reading “Verdict”
Curveball Explained
About a year ago, my husband and I were arrested. There was a warrant/charges we knew nothing about. I have explained previously that our last foster placement ended quickly. These things came from that. Anyway, we have been in and out of court for the better part of the year with continuance after continuance. WeContinue reading “Curveball Explained”
