Years ago, when I was deciding what my future would be. I actively chose to stay out west. Let me explain: I went away to school in Rexburg, Idaho, six (6) months after my high school graduation. I went away to school because I had people intervene on my behalf to ensure I got theContinue reading “Away With Purpose”

Holding Grudges
At this time last weekend, I was on a plane. I was going to Florida for the first time in seven (7) years to be with family. And, I knew that I was walking into a lion’s den. Being the only (to my knowledge) disabled person since birth in my family means I’m treated differently.Continue reading “Holding Grudges”
Off On Another Adventure
I was just getting into my routine. Last week was the last of my 10 hour shifts. Yesterday was the beginning of my new self designed schedule. I am so happy that I said what I wanted and actually got it. I have worked out for the last 2 days. And, I have plans forContinue reading “Off On Another Adventure”
Home Again
We arrived home early this afternoon. I took the day off of work to recover. Our car is cleared out and (mostly) clean of the bug goo that happens on long trips. The inside is clean of the trash and the sunflower seed shells that always accompany me on my travels. On my socials, youContinue reading “Home Again”
Return Home
We started the trek back home. Currently in the car for the longest part of the trip. It was a good trip. We went to the wedding of our granddaughter’s parents. I did not take the opportunity to give a toast. If I had, this is what I would’ve said: Thank you for allowing usContinue reading “Return Home”
Vacation
We are traveling and have finally reached our destination. It has been a good trip. The car has been amazing. We shared the driving and have had good meals. Tomorrow is the main event, and then we will explore a bit before the trek back. Pictures to come via my socials.

Date night back in the day consisted of a walk through the rental stores to pick movies and when they stocked movies we would goContinue reading “Cinephile”
Escape and Process
What do you enjoy most about writing? Writing for me has always been a way of coping and processing. It’s also the way I found my voice as a disabled person that was consistently bullied and belittled, even by members of my own family. When I can’t speak the words, I write them down. ThatContinue reading “Escape and Process”
Substack Post
I’m starting to build my content on Substack. Feel free to find me there… Listen Louder is one that was inspired by my Sunday morning routine.
Prompt Day
What do you love about where you live? There’s a few things I love about my city, right now the paramount reason is being near my son. The other thing I love about it is the mildness of the weather. While the rest of the country is dealing with massive weather emergencies, our area ofContinue reading “Prompt Day”
