Word Work 2025

I was introduced to Luvvie what seems like forever ago. Her words inspire me. Successful authors tend to do that, since I want to be a successful author one day. So, when I learned about her Book Academy offering of daily writing prompts in October, I immediately signed up. I was looking forward to it. Especially the physical act of writing with a pen and paper. After the emotional month of September and the other events going on in my life/with my family, I thought I would be able to dive deep.

I made it 10 days before life intervened and all my efforts came to a grinding halt. I learned a valuable lesson. If I don’t schedule it… It’s not going to happen. Sure, 10 days in is about when everything with my family happened. But, I wasn’t going non-stop and if my alarms were set to alert me, I definitely would have gotten it done.

That’s not to say that I didn’t write because I certainly did. The work and the words that I need to find and share are still waiting to go from brain to page. It’s time to get down to work.

I kept the prompts from the emails each day. My commitment from now until January is this: Pull out that journal, and begin again. My work schedule allows me to both take care of my body, feed my soul, and put in the work to become the author I hope to be.
