Home Again

We arrived home early this afternoon. I took the day off of work to recover. Our car is cleared out and (mostly) clean of the bug goo that happens on long trips. The inside is clean of the trash and the sunflower seed shells that always accompany me on my travels.

On my socials, you will find the first 3 posts of pictures from our trip. I am really grateful for the time we spent on this trip.

I got to see my granddaughter in her element. I got to see the family that she has around her. I got to know them better. I was confident she was where she needed to be before this trip. Now, I know with 100% surety that my granddaughter is where she is supposed to be.

We also saw part of the country that I never imagined I would go to.

Now back to our day to day, with some changes on the horizon. First, my work schedule will changed to a 5 day week most of the time. The good part is that I will start later. Which means time for self care every day before the rest of the world zaps my energy. Second, after spending time with my granddaughter and her family, I’m convinced we need to know her/them better. I can’t force engagement on their part… but I can make videos and share the link to them for them to see and know us that way. It’s something we used to do when visits were suspended during COVID, it’s definitely something I can do again. Third, time to get back to routine with meal prep and strength workouts.
