I’ve fallen out of the habit of writing daily… sorry, everyone. I’m repenting now, though.
A couple of things have gone on and are upcoming up in life that I need to process, so it’s the perfect opportunity to get back into my writing practice.
During my last pay period, my supervisor was giving me a hard time about using the system to my favor. He is trying to scare me into changing my behavior. I can tell you that nope, it won’t, because I’m doing nothing wrong. He came back to me again and asked me about changing my schedule.
I gave him and his immediate underlings my ideal schedule (9 am – 5:30 pm), and they said, “yes, we can do that.” So, now if I could just work from home some of the time… my satisfaction at work would be at the maximum it could be in my current assignment. That new schedule will start in a couple of weeks when I return from our vacation.
Our vacation is a road trip to visit our granddaughter and her family for her mom’s wedding. We are looking forward to the trip. We get to see the family AND go to an area of the country we’ve never been to before.
We are working on getting financially stable. I’m taking on the role of accountant for our family again. I had relinquished that role a while ago, but we kept running into situations that were completely preventable. The steps in place weren’t enough, and I was tired of being frustrated and annoyed, so I took action. We are just getting back into the swing of things, but I already feel the shift.
The other thing on my mind this week is the gut punch I got from a text message. This week, out of the blue, after being expelled from the local Cyclebar, I got a text message about a promotion they were holding. I still follow several of the instructors and members on social media… so I run into a few memories and good times every now and then. This was different. It felt like a taunt, and if I wanted to take them up on the promotion, I feel certain that I would’ve been turned away and been subjected to further emotional trauma. Hopefully, the request to the GM to make sure that does not happen again does the trick. Otherwise, I might have to take further action that I’d generally like to avoid.
I could say more on a few other subjects, but I think I’ll stop here for now. If you made it this far, thank you for being here.
