High Risk

Was today typical?

Today, I was off the waitlist and had my new patient appointment for the high risk breast clinic. So, today was not a typical day.

I have multiple family members who battled cancer. My risk is higher, and we live far enough away from all our family members that I am compelled to stay ahead of health stuff. So, extra scans each year, an extra provider, and exams each year. Anything to have an advanced warning of illness. Early detection saves lives.

A typical day for me during the week is work, home, a workout, sleep, rinse/repeat. I haven’t had a typical day in a few months, though. Increasing my hours to full-time (80 hrs a pay period) has sapped all my energy. After our vacation at the end of the month, I am going to build a new morning routine… but right now, my goal is to be in bed by 11:00 every night.
