Day 17

Where can you reduce clutter in your life?

Choosing a prompt from the wordpress algorithm today.

I can reduce clutter in my living space. In fact, I already started. Last weekend, I cleaned out my closet of clothes that I don’t wear/don’t fit/can’t wear to work. I also got rid of shoes that were broken or don’t work for me.

I need to do the same in other rooms of my house. Not quite the Kondo method because I believe things still have purpose even without bringing joy, but definitely going more for a minimalist vibe.

I’d like to only have things in my home that fall into these categories:

  1. They serve a specific pupose. Think kitchen/bathroom/bedroom, etc items.
  2. They help us earn income and/or provide entertainment. Think home theater/office/electronics, etc.
  3. They uplift our mood or allow for escape our realities. Think books, movies, games, puzzles.

Within these categories, I want to limit the amount, especially with games and puzzles. The benchmark question is: will we play it or put it together multiple times. If the answer is no… it’s got to go. The same benchmarks for books and movies.
