Day 12 — Prescheduled Post

I want to remember…

I want to remember the moment that I realized that faith is an action word.

I came to my faith at a young age. Throughout my childhood and adolescence, I had to fight to keep it. I was the only one in my home who believed the way I did. So, I would study scripture alone. I attended church alone. I did service to my community often without the support or care of my family.

As I went away to school and built my life, I have lived in communities with people who share the majority of my beliefs. The way I express and live my faith looks very different than it once did.

But, faith without the work is dead. Simply going through the motions is not good enough.

I want to remember what it is like to feel the fire of faith so deep and hot that the thought of not living with exactness is unthinkable.
