Day 4

What is the greatest gift someone could give you?

In general, I’m not really a gift type of person. I don’t care about ‘the thing’ someone gives me, I prefer to think about the intention behind it.

My father only ever gave me two things that I still have today. The first is a gold nameplate necklace and another necklace. But, the weekends we spent together and all the daddy-daughter days we had together are etched into my life’s blood as core memories. (Sadly, I’ve had to change the narrative of those memories in adulthood.)

If you’re going to give me something that has no daily use, then that something should be time. I’d rather build a memory with you that will last longer than the lifespan of an object.
