Health update

I’ve been remiss on keeping up with my health and wellness for the past 2 years.

When I got my job and switched insurance,  my primary care provider became out of network. I tried and failed to find a new primary care for months and months.

This past week, I finally got into a new primary care provider for a discussion and exam.

My lab results are not great. My A1c is 12%, and my cholesterol is higher than it was. My other lab numbers aren’t anything to brag about either.

This is to be expected. I’ve not had any medications, and my activity rate has decreased immensely.

So, next steps. I am now on a new medication to start to bring my A1c under control. I will monitor my daily numbers much more closely. I’m also getting a CGM so I can track in public without finger sticks.

After a few days of seeing how my body responds to the medications, I will slowly return to exercise every day. I will also return slowly to my nutrition plan and carb intake.

I am worth the effort to be healthy.
