Travel Log

So here’s the thing… I could give you a life update, but it’s not that interesting and I can’t talk about what we are experiencing right now anyway… so instead, I’m going to tell you that on Monday, October 9th, I was at Chase Field in Phoenix to see P!nk on her Summer Carnival 2023 tour.

It was a trip we planned months ago before life threw the latest curveball, and we kept the plans because we both needed the time to just be… relax and have some fun. We flew in a few days before the concert cuz we have family in the area who were willing to put up with us. Plus, it was cheaper to fly in a few days before.

Our itinerary was pretty lowkey. We flew in late Thursday, and after arriving at our destination for the night, we crashed hard. Slept remarkably well.

Friday afternoon, we went to lunch at a local spot and explored Goldfield. We only scratched the surface of everything we could do there, but what we did/saw was enough for the day given the 100+ degree weather we experienced just about every day we were in Arizona.

Saturday we met up with a friend for lunch, ran some much-needed errands, and took advantage of the pool.

On Sunday, I cooked an early dinner for the family and then, we went on a short scenic drive for an Arizona sunset and walk on the Mesa Arizona Temple grounds.

Monday morning, after styling my hair and eating breakfast we went exploring. We landed at the Arizona Boardwalk. There are a few things to do there and it’s definitely a stop we’ll make again to see more of what’s available.

Stop 1: Museum of Illusions. This was a trippy museum… it was fun to see how master illusionists make their tricks happen.

Stop 2/3: Pangea Land of the Dinosaur. This has animatronic dinosaurs set up in a mini safari-style exhibit. It was fun to walk through and experience the different dinosaurs in what their environment might have ben like,

For lunch/early dinner, we walked upstairs to the Pangea grill and ate a really good and filling meal.

The Concert

After lunch, we wandered around the boardwalk a little bit, then went to the nearest Valley Metro park/ride station and made our way into Pheonix to Chase Field. When we got there, the line was already massive. It was definitely an experience. Our seats were in the 322 section, which I loved because I could look down at the whole stage and had a good view of all three monitors for the camera close-ups.

I loved the concert, It was everything I expected from P!nk and her guests, and so much more. I laughed, cried, and sang along to practically every song. It was my first dedicated concert that wasn’t on a fairground. It probably won’t be my last.

We spent Tuesday the 10th packing and heading back home. It was so good to be in temperatures below 70 and sleep in my own bed and dream about our next trip.

I am rested, recharged, and ready to deal with the matters at hand. Life is really good.
