July Catch Up

The month of July has been a whirlwind. A couple of big things happened at the end of June that have set the stage for the month of July. Do you have a few minutes? Let’s sit and have a chat.

Big thing number 1. Our foster son of nearly 1 year got to be reunited with his bio momma. This is something that we have all been working so hard for. And though, we miss him, we are happy he is with his mom.

Big thing number 2. My cousin and her husband came out to spend the weekend with me. My husband was out of town with his family, so for a couple of days it was just the three of us and it was good. This is the first time someone from my side of the family has come to see me. Who knows, it might start a trend.

Big thing number 3. For the last several months I have been applying for jobs at my top three health systems in my area. Just days before we got word from the case worker that the move to birth mom was going to happen, I got 2 offers of employment from 2 of the 3 health systems. After weighing both options, I accepted the first offer.

This was the day I got my badge and got all of my employee pre-work completed for working in the clinics.

This was yesterday after 2 weeks of working. I am loving my job. I work at the Breast Care Services clinics with St Luke’s Health System here in Boise.

I play just a small part in another’s journey to maintain / better their health. I work with an amazing team at Breast Care Services, and the St Luke’s team is amazing to be part of.

I still work out every day. Times have changed to accommodate my work schedule, but it’s important to maintain my level of activity for my overall health and well-being. As my work schedule changes, and I pick back up my personal training I will have to make further adjustments, but these things are so good and I’m so not complaining.

My personal life is going great, while the world around me is seemingly falling to the ground. With the recent war in Ukraine, the prices for all kinds of necessary goods and services skyrocketing, the violence across the country due to improper use of guns, and the overturning of decisions that directly affect me as a woman but also my community, and on and on.

It is quite an interesting balance and part of the reason I’ve been so quiet on this medium.
