New Year, New Placement

The first week of January 2022 has been very interesting.
Here’s how I’m started the first days of 2022.
1. Beginning the job search again. The current situation isn’t worth the stress it causes.
2. Group coaching with the Empowered You program by my good friend Genevieve.
3. 91.1/200 miles biked For St. Jude’s fundraising efforts.
4. Accepting the placement of one of my boy’s younger siblings.

The biggest thing of the week is of course the last one. With 2 boys, our home was technically closed to new placements. But, the birth family requested us. In fact, the birth family sent me a series of texts with humbling words of their gratitude for me and my husband. Also, they shared with us the thoughts of my older FS about how he feels about our home/us. I’ve spent the weekend near tears with the knowledge that I’m making such an impact on this family.

The FS that’s been with us the longest amount of time is getting to spend more time with his birth family. That usually means he’ll get to go home for a longer/permanent basis. We’ve been close to that situation before so, we’ll live by the “it’s not happening until it happens” attitude and mentality.

Our house is very full and very loud. It feels so good.
