Cyclebar Village Meridian turned 5 years old last week. (October 27-28, 2021) To celebrate there were theme rides, guest cyclestars, killer soundtracks, and lots of riding.
There were 10 rides between the 2 days. I rode 8 of those rides. One of those rides was with my husband and our weekly date night… for CB Prom.
It was an endurance test for me. Here’s what I learned about myself:
1. I am capable of 10 miles doing the bare minimum of effort.
2. My max miles at the moment is 12-13 miles per class.
3. I am able to do all the things… I’m going to need to work hard at it because it’s hard as all hell to do it all.
4. The Cyclebar team/fellow riders are an extension of my family. I am so lucky to have all of these people in my life.
During the finale I was sitting on one end of the studio and the instructors that quite literally changed my life were in direct line of sight. Just that morning I had a conversation with one of them about all the steps I was taking to stay healthy/hydrated during the marathon days with all the rides. As I was riding and feeling every muscle and movement and pushing every limit… I couldn’t help but look at these two women and feel all the feelings.
I am a stronger rider in the studio and more confident off of the bike because of them. I found myself because they saw me and lifted me enough that I could see what they saw.
Thank you Cyclebar for being the place where I am whole and for having the best people on your team. I wouldn’t be who I am without you.
